CHALLENGE

Qatar Duty Free faced a defining moment, trapped in a crowded duty-free landscape where everyone claims to be premium. To mark their 25th anniversary, they needed more than a year-long party. They needed to reposition the brand and cut through to millions of fast-moving transit passengers with options at every gate.

SOLUTION

To combat this, we developed the platform 'You've Arrived'. A double-meaning campaign brought to life through a sky-high spectacle of hot air balloons led by a giant birthday cake, each one showcasing a different facet of QDF's offering. Bold, visual and impossible to ignore, it elevated the brand from ground level to skyline.

Launching across over 850 digital screens in a complete takeover of Hamad International Airport, and extending into social, influencer, in-flight and digital channels, the campaign created a full-circle journey from air to arrival. It cut through the sea of sameness in airport retail, successfully repositioning QDF from another duty-free shop into a destination in itself.

RESULTS

The campaign delivered exceptional results, generating an 11% increase in sales year-on-year, proof that the platform translated directly into commercial impact.

Beyond the numbers, 'You've Arrived' gave QDF something more valuable than a successful anniversary campaign: a new brand position and the foundation for how the firm talks about itself going forward, demonstrating what's possible when strategy, creativity, and execution align.
